SALT LAKE CITY- The three premier ensembles of Temple Square announce their 2000-2001 concert series. The Tabernacle Choir, Orchestra at Temple Square, and the Temple Square Chorale will perform nine local concerts September 2000 through April 2001.

The season opens Saturday, 16 September in the Salt Lake Tabernacle with Barlow Bradford conducting the 100 member Orchestra at Temple Square. The Orchestra will perform Brahms' Second Symphony followed by Tchaikovsky's beloved "Serenade for Strings" conducted by guest concertmaster Igor Gruppman.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Tabernacle. All guests are welcome, age eight years and older. There is no charge and no tickets are required.

The Tabernacle Choir announces also its highly popular Christmas Concert in the 21-thousand seat Conference Center, Saturday, 16 December. The Choir and the Orchestra at Temple Square will perform. Tickets are required for this concert, but there is no charge. Christmas Concert tickets will be available beginning Tuesday, 17 October at the Conference Center ticket office (door #4) and at other Utah locations to be announced. The Conference Center ticket office will be open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
