"George Midgley, who was an insurance executive, bought his first camera in 1910. He visited New York and England, gaining exposure in developments in photography (including bromoil transfer) through his travels. In Salt Lake City, he read journals and magazines to keep in touch with what was going on....Midgley's work has been exhibited internationally. His photographs are included in the collection of the Smithsonian Institution and the Metropolitan Museum of Art."
