The 140 millionth copy of the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ was recently distributed, passing another milestone in the book’s history. Nine Million New U.S. Records Added to FamilySearch.org - News Release

FamilySearch.org has updated its database of 1870 U.S. Census records and added two new databases with West Virginian information this week to its online pilot program at pilot.familysearch.org. The new additions represent over nine million new names. There are now over 477 million searchable names on the pilot site.  Full Story

President Monson Dedicates Twin Falls Idaho Temple - News Release

What Moves Mormons During Emergencies - News Release

After recent severe storms in Ruidoso, New Mexico, Mormon missionaries joined with local Latter-day Saints to help residents deal with the damage. After a day spent diverting and damming overflowing rivers, volunteers helped victims move out of flooded and damaged homes. The Divine Institution of Marriage


The California Supreme Court recently ruled that same-sex marriage was legal in California. Recognizing the importance of marriage to society, the Church accepted an invitation to participate in ProtectMarriage, a coalition of churches, organizations, and individuals sponsoring a November ballot measure, Proposition 8, that would amend the California state constitution to ensure that only a marriage between a man and a woman would be legally recognized. Everyone Else Makes Such Lonely Heavens


The New Testament states unequivocally that, besides Jesus Christ, “there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved." And yet hundreds of millions of souls, probably the majority of all who have ever lived, were never taught about Christianity and perhaps never so much as heard the name of Jesus Christ.
