FEATURES

Iraq, Afghanistan and Other Isolated Areas
Church Organization in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Other Isolated Areas
Latter-day Saint service members, diplomats, civilian workers, and humanitarian volunteers who will be deploying to Iraq, Afghanistan, or other isolated areas in conjunction with military service or employment opportunities can visit here to find out how the Church is organized in these countries and how to contact priesthood leaders in these locations.
Orientation
Pre-Military Service Church Orientation
Church members who join the military are often unsure what to expect as they enter basic training. Many have heard stories that no longer reflect conditions in the military but still raise concerns for military members and their parents and spouses. Stakes and wards can help resolve these and other concerns by holding a Pre-Military Service Church Orientation for members of the Church who join the military. This orientation should be held before they leave for basic training.
A family
Supporting Military Families, Online Resource
The purpose of Supporting Military Families is to help Church members who are serving in the military understand some of the challenges they and their families will face during periods of separation and to identify resources available to help them.
Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled
Church Videos for Service Members and Their Families
The Serving Your Country video emphasizes the importance of remaining strong in the gospel while serving your country. The Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled video is especially helpful to those who have or will serve their country during periods of war and armed conflicts. It helps military members and their families find comfort and peace through the testimonies of those who have been through similar experiences.
Principles of the Gospel
Principles of the Gospel Book
The Principles of the Gospel book is now available as part of the Military Scripture Set. Sections of the book include Special Instructions for Latter-day Saints in the Military, Gospel Topics, Priesthood Ordinances and Blessings, and Selected Hymns. Principles of the Gospel is now available to Church members serving in the military in Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries (for more information, you may contact Military Relations by e-mail or by phone at 801-240-2286).
Military Chaplain
Military Chaplain Opportunities
The military selects 150 to 200 new chaplains each year. This can be a very rewarding career with excellent military benefits. Click here for more information.
