The Lord declared, "For my soul delighteth in the song of the heart; yea, the song of the righteous is a prayer unto me, and it shall be answered with a blessing upon their heads" (D&C 25:12).
The music listed below is approved for use in Young Women meetings and activities. Young Women leaders oversee music in Young Women meetings and activities and should carefully select music appropriate for the occasion.

- A Song of the Heart (songbook containing 36 songs related to the Young Women program; can be ordered in print)
- Young Women camp songs (collection of 24 Young Women camp songs; can be ordered in print and on compact disc and audiocassette)
- Sheet music of songs published in the New Era magazine
- “Selected Young Women Songs”: This is a CD of young women singing a selection of songs from A Song of the Heart, the Young Women Camp Manual, and the New Era and Liahona. It is available in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Other musical selections should be in keeping with the spirit of the hymns, and texts should be doctrinally correct. Some religiously oriented music in a popular style is not appropriate for Sunday meetings.
