Idea 2: Promised Blessings of Living the Standards

The Lord sets His standards so He can bless us. To those who meet the standards, He promises:

  • The help of the Holy Ghost.
  • Personal peace and help with their life's work.
  • Ability to bear trials with courage.
  • Temple covenants and blessings.
  • Eternal life with their families.
  • True joy.
  • Knowledge of Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.

(See For the Strength of Youth, PDF 2–3, 42.)

“The Lord’s standard of worthiness includes some commandments we cannot break.  We must be chaste.  We must be full-tithe payers.  We must keep the Word of Wisdom. We must be honest. And those commandments must be kept with faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and with a humble and repentant heart” (Henry B. Eyring, “Standards of Worthiness,” Worldwide Leadership Training Meeting, Jan. 11, 2003, 10).

Activity

Review the promises from the First Presidency in For the Strength of Youth, PDF pages 2–3 and 42. Underline and number the promises.
