Leadership for young women is much more than making phone calls to remind the other girls of upcoming activities. Here are some leadership ideas from Young Women leaders throughout the Church. Young women can:
- Call to find speakers for firesides.
- Share a spiritual thought.
- Plan a camp devotional.
- Accept assignments for opening exercises.
- Help set up for and clean up after events.
- Make an agenda.
- Be an example.
- Regularly attend Mutual.
- Write thank you notes.
- Conduct meetings.
- Help with music and hymnbooks.
- Sing in a choir or group.
- Present an instrumental musical number.
- Visit less-active girls.
- Speak positively of classmates.
- Plan Young Women in Excellence or New Beginnings.
- Design a printed program.
- Plan menus for camp and shop for food.
- Pack the food for camp.
- Prepare meals at camp.
- Create a floral arrangement.
- Take pictures of other young women.
- Put together a slide show.
- Bring scriptures to class.
- Spotlight (give a short introduction about) another young woman.
- Teach part of a lesson.
- Share a personal example in a lesson.
- Explain thoughts about a scripture.
- Share what she learned at a fireside.
- Acknowledge birthdays of class members.
