Gospel Doctrine teachers: The lessons in the manual contain more information than you will probably be able to teach in one class period. Seek the Spirit of the Lord in selecting the scripture accounts, questions, and other lesson materials that best meet the needs of class members.
Basic Resources
Art
The lesson manual lists several pictures from the Gospel Art Picture Kit that you can use during your lesson (see lesson manual, page 22). These pictures are available online or in your meetinghouse library. To see these pictures online, click on the picture titles in the list below.
For suggestions on using pictures in your class, read "Pictures" and "Visuals" in Teaching, No Greater Call, pages 176, 182–83.
Videos
As an additional teaching idea, the lesson manual suggests a video segment you could use as part of your lesson (see lesson manual, page 25). Click the video title below to see a listing for this video in the online Church Distribution Services catalog.
For information on using videos in your class, read "Audiovisual Materials" in Teaching, No Greater Call, page 160.
Suggestion for Teaching
The lesson for this week provides this suggestion for teaching: "Learn and use class members' names. When you do so, class members see that you care about them as individuals. Knowing class members' names can also help you encourage participation by enabling you to direct questions to specific people" (lesson manual, page 22).
