Gospel Doctrine teachers: The lessons in the manual contain more information than you will probably be able to teach in one class period. Seek the Spirit of the Lord in selecting the scripture accounts, questions, and other lesson materials that best meet the needs of class members.

Basic Resources

Scriptures
  • To read the lesson or to see the class member study guide section for this week, click on the pictures above.
  • You can read the assigned scriptures for this week online: Acts 10–14; 15:1–35.

  • Would you like to listen to an audio recording of the scriptures in this week's lesson? Try listening to or downloading Acts 10 (MP3 format), which is in this week's reading. For more New Testament audio, click here.
  • The official scripture study aids often have helpful information you can use in your lessons. For example, the lesson for this week references the entries for "Circumcision" and "Cornelius" in the Bible Dictionary (see lesson manual, page 125). The lesson also suggests using a map of Paul's first missionary journey, which is available in the maps section of Latter-day Saint editions of the Bible (map 13 for editions printed in 1999 or later; map 19 in printings before 1999) (see lesson manual, page 125).
  • The lesson manual suggests using a map of the world in combination with current Church membership statistics (see lesson manual, page 128). A map of the world is available in the Church history maps section of newer triple combinations, or you can use any other version of a world map that may be available to you. For current Church membership statistics, visit the Statistical Information page on the Church's official Newsroom site.

Suggestion for Teaching

Teaching, No Greater Call The lesson for this week provides this suggestion for teaching: "Elder Gordon B. Hinckley said: 'Your students deserve more than your knowledge. They deserve and hunger for your inspiration. They want the warm glow of personal relationships. This alawys has been the hallmark of a great teacher' (in Conference Report, Oct. 1965, 52; or Improvement Era, Dec. 1965, 1124). Prayerfully consider how you can develop and show love for each class member (see Teaching, No Greater Call [36123], pages 12, 31–36)" (lesson manual, page 125).
