While the stories you submit should be short and to the point, newspaper editors sometimes might want more information about a story. They might feel that the story is of special interest to readers, or they might need an expanded story for layout and page design reasons.

When you submit stories you feel are especially interesting, consider enclosing extra background information from the current Church Almanac (See Your Calling in Public Affairs/Resources/Deseret Morning News Almanac) or referencing the Church Web site at www.lds.org.
