The following notice was sent by the Young Men and Young Women general presidencies to general and local priesthood leaders on July 1, 2008:

"The Mutual theme for 2009 is 'Be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity' (1 Timothy 4:12). Additional resource material regarding this theme will be available in the Liahona and New Era magazines at the beginning of 2009.

"Please give a copy of this notice to stake and ward Young Men and Young Women presidencies."
