Karen J. Ashton

KAREN J. ASHTON
Young Women General Board Member

Karen Ashton was raised in Murray, Utah. She attended Brigham Young University and met her husband, Alan C. Ashton, on a blind date. Karen and Alan were married in 1968 in the Salt Lake Temple and are the parents of eleven children.

Sister Ashton worked full-time as a homemaker, and as her children grew, she developed a tremendous love for gardens and children's education. Karen was able to share her love of gardens in a major way when she and her husband founded Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah, a 52-acre garden for families.

Prior to her call to serve on the Young Women general board, Sister Ashton served faithfully as a mission president's wife in the Toronto Canada Mission, on the Primary general board, as ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president, and on her ward activities committee.
