The general Relief Society presidency held training for Relief Society leaders in March 2011 in the Salt Lake Tabernacle. Also Sister Beck met with women and priesthood and Relief Society leaders in Idaho. These trainings may be useful to you as you train Relief Society leaders in your ward or stake.

Introduction to Training Outline: Sister Beck teaches Relief Society leaders their responsibilities and how to perform them.

 
How to Prioritize: Sister Beck reviews essential, necessary, and “nice-to-do” tasks and focuses on the essential.  
Additional Relief Society Meetings: Sister Allred summarizes handbook policies for additional Relief Society meetings.  
     Part 1: Under the direction of Bishop: Video demonstrating Relief Society president seeking counsel from the bishop concerning additional Relief Society meeting goals.  
     Part 2: Fulfill Purpose: Video demonstrating how an additional Relief Society meeting should be organized around the purposes of Relief Society.

Relief Society History: Sister Thompson teaches why Relief Society history is important.  
General Welfare: Sister Thompson teaches that welfare is a core Relief Society responsibility.  
Welfare Resources: Sister Thompson highlights available Church resources to meet welfare needs.  
New Member Forms: Sister Allred explains how to complete the New Member Form and the importance of knowing people and not just statistics.  
Visiting Teaching: Sister Thompson teaches that visiting teaching “is more a way of life than a task.”  
     A Visiting Teacher... Video demonstrating the multiple ways visiting teaching may be fulfilled.  
New Relief Society Sisters: Sister Beck gives encouragement to teach new sisters about the joys, expectations, and duties of being a member of Relief Society.  
Self Reliance: Sister Beck teaches that now is the time to learn and prepare and that preparation starts in our own homes.

A training and orientation handout was shared in the recent Relief Society training. It shares the vision and goals of the Relief Society general presidency. It can be used to orient new Relief Society leaders to their callings and as a guide for auxiliary and priesthood leaders for ongoing leadership training.
