A Brand New Year: 2010 Youth Celebration, will be divided into ten segments. These segments will focus on strengthening faith in Jesus Christ and helping youth live the standards found in For the Strength of Youth.  The DVD will also feature messages from general Church leaders and examples of faithful youth worldwide.

Local priesthood and auxiliary leaders should review the DVD as soon as it arrives and plan to use it to introduce the annual Mutual theme in New Year’s Eve activities or other special events where the theme is presented.Segments may also be used throughout the year to enrich youth classes, meetings, and activities.

Reviewing the DVD will help leaders learn what is contained in each segment and how the segments can help them strengthen youth.

What are the segments?

Segment 1: Introduction of Mutual Theme
The 2010 Mutual theme is “Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest” (Joshua 1:9).

What is the content of the DVD?

The content is mostly youth worldwide encouraging one another, testifying, and sharing inspiring experiences with each other.  It will also include uplifting original songs, youth interacting with general Church leaders, and a message from a member of the First Presidency or the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. 

All of the material (including video, songs, sheet music, and helps for commitments) will be available for download on the internet on or around December 31, 2009.

It is important to review the DVD and introduce the downloadable materials to the youth, so they can use them to “be strong and of a good courage”  (Joshua 1:9) in their everyday lives.
