Discover Castle Valley, Utah, through an elaborate outdoor historical drama that portrays the settling of a pioneer village.
Watch as actors portray couples and individuals who leave their established homes and farms to homestead new territory. Feel the despair of a young wife as she sees her new home, a dugout, for the first time. Experience the sacrifices early settlers made as they carved a home for themselves out of a wilderness. Discover the beliefs of the settlers as they teach an American Indian family about the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ. This free production is fun for the whole family.
The first performance of the Castle Valley Pageant occurred on 11 and 12 August 1978. Since then it has grown from a small, simple production into a spectacular event, performed in an outdoor amphitheater with seating for 4,000.
And don't miss the Pioneer Village, a new feature presented before the pageant begins. At the village, learn about the crafts necessary for a pioneer settlement to survive, such as blacksmithing, farming with horse-drawn implements, weaving, and spinning.
