Visit one of the earliest brick homes in Nauvoo. This beautiful federal-style home was built by John Ivins, a convert to the Church, and later occupied by John Taylor, the third President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

This brick residence, part of a three-building complex, provided a home for the Taylor family in 1845. Taylor, a convert from England, served in the adjacent Printing Office as the editor of the first periodicals in Nauvoo, the Times and Seasons and the Nauvoo Neighbor. Original woodwork and flooring underscore interesting antique furnishings, some owned by the Taylor family.
