Welfare
The process of and means for taking care of people’s spiritual and temporal needs.
- Open your hand wide to thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy in thy land:Deut. 15:11;
- He that giveth to the poor shall not lack:Prov. 28:27;
- Is this not the fast that I have chosen? to give thy bread to the hungry, to bring the poor into thy house:Isa. 58:6–7;
- I was hungry and ye gave me meat; I was a stranger and ye took me in. When you do it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it to me:Matt. 25:35–40;
