What do Mormons believe?

Joseph Smith, the first prophet and president of the Church, said: "The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the apostles and prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it." Nevertheless, along with many commonalities with other Christian faiths, there are also unique and striking differences. These include a belief in additional scriptures to the Bible and continuing revelation through modern apostles and prophets. These revelations have significantly expanded our understanding of more ancient scriptures.

Mormons, or Latter-day Saints, also teach that God, our Heavenly Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ, are physically separate beings.
