Judging and Awards

Judging Criteria
Entries will be judged on the successful expression of a Mormon Messages theme and on the excellence of technical implementation, creativity, and originality of the video.

Judging Process
Two rounds of judging by a multimember jury will take place.

The first round will narrow the videos down to a maximum of 15 in each category. First-round finalists will be notified.

If your video contains material with copyright or trademark protection issues and your video is selected as a finalist, you will be notified of the finalist status and the problem materials. You will have two weeks to edit out the material and replace it with content that does not include copyrighted or trademarked material and resubmit the video. If the video is not edited and returned within the two-week period, it will no longer be included as a finalist. If the resubmitted video still contains copyrighted material other than Church copyrighted content, it will be disqualified. During this process, you may not modify other parts of your entry or it will be disqualified.

Finalist videos are displayed at http://classic.lds.org/visitorschoice and will be available from March 21, 2011 through April 4, 2011. Visitors will be able to vote for their favorite video in each category.

A second round of judging will take place to select up to three winners in each category.

Awards
In each category:
  • Up to three awards of $500
  • One Visitors´ Choice award of $500

Honorable mention or merit awards may be given in each category.

Each finalist will receive a certificate.
