Mutual Theme for 2003 The Guidebook for Parents and Leaders of Youth invites youth and their leaders to focus on an annual theme as part of Mutual. The suggested theme for 2003 is "Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men" (2 Nephi 31:20; see also For the Strength of Youth, 40–42). To help youth press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, Young Men and Young Women leaders are encouraged to emphasize standards described in For the Strength of Youth at Mutual throughout the year. Leaders may wish to select one standard each month as a focus for talks and music in opening exercises. The theme may also be used to provide focus for other Mutual activities, such as dance, drama, speech, sports, music, or service.
