Will I receive any information from Missionary Travel?

Yes. All information regarding visa documents and travel for Colombia missions will be mailed to the address you provided.

Do missionaries need to get a visa to Colombia before they leave?

No, a visa is not obtained before missionaries travel to the mission. Missionaries will travel to Colombia and the Bogota MTC on just their passport and entry documents as a tourist. Their 2-year residency visa will be applied for after their arrival in Colombia.

Missionary Travel will send via FedEx instructions and a final itinerary 7-10 days before your MTC entry date. Missionaries will add their passport to the travel packet and take it with them to the airport.

No. Missionaries attending the Bogota MTC should only send one clear, color copy of their passport ID page along with a 2x2 passport-type photo and blood-type document. Missionaries will keep their original passport with them.

My ticket has a return flight on it – am I returning to the US?

This is called an open return. It is there for visa and immigration purposes only. It is there to show immigration that you have a way to return to the United States if needed.

Can missionaries take an international trip with their passport before they go on their mission?

Yes. Unless a visa is required.

If missionaries lose their visa packet, can they get a new one emailed to them?

Yes. Missionaries should call 1-800-537-3537 and ask for the visa packet to be emailed to them.

Can I make corrections?

Yes, with white-out tape (not liquid).
