My signature does not match the name printed on my passport. Is that a problem?

If you did not sign your full name on the passport, all your visa documents must be signed the way you signed your passport.

Do missionaries send their actual passport to Missionary Travel?

Yes.  The physical passport is needed to obtain a visa to Suriname.  This is an addition to the photocopy of every page of your passport.  If you are not serving in Suriname you do not need to turn in your passport, only the photocopy of every page of your passport.

Can I make corrections to my visa forms if the information already filled in is not correct? (Suriname)

No. Please contact our office for a new document.

How do I attach my photo to the application? (Suriname)

Use a paper clip to attach your photo.

What if missionaries are planning an international trip before entering the missionary training center? Is that allowed?

(Suriname) No.  Your passport is needed to obtain a visa, so please send it to Church Travel no later than the date indicated in your visa packet.  If not assigned to the Suriname mission region you do not need to turn in your passport so an international trip before your MTC date is okay.

When will missionaries get their visa?

Missionaries will obtain their visa in the MTC.

Can missionaries use their original birth certificate?

No. Missionary Travel needs a certified birth certificate that was issued within the last 5 years. 

FBI clearance & Police letter questions

FBI clearances can be obtained through an FBI Channeler, we need two original clearances.

Police letters can be from the same department. (Only original documents are accepted.)
