Standards

Standards are essential guidelines to help young women remain worthy to receive guidance from the Holy Ghost and to enter the temple. Use the standards to bless the lives of the young women you are responsible to lead and guide. Ideally, the standards will become an important part of what is taught in Sunday lessons, family home evening, Mutual lessons, and sacrament meetings.

The online resource “Strength of Youth Media 2012” supports the 2012 Mutual theme and provides (1) 19 video messages showing how youth exemplify the teachings of Jesus Christ, (2) the “Arise” theme song, and (3) downloadable images. Leaders, parents, and youth should use this resource in lessons, activities, and even opening exercises at Mutual. They should share it with others.

The new edition of For the Strength of Youth contains clear standards and guidelines to help youth live the standards with exactness and qualify for the companionship of the Holy Ghost. These standards can be an important part of what is taught in Sunday lessons, family home evening, Mutual lessons, sacrament meetings, and interview settings. Use these standards to bless the lives of the young women you are called to lead and teach. Help them to “Arise and shine forth!”

“For the Strength of Youth Media” and the For the Strength of Youth pamphlet are resources for parents, Young Women leaders, and priesthood leaders. As the world grows ever-more challenging, youth who live the standards can be a righteous influence, and others will inquire about our standards and come to embrace the gospel.
