Welcoming New Young Women
Welcome each new young woman as she turns 12, and provide her with Young Women materials.
For the Strength of Youth
Standards found in For the Strength of Youth provide sure direction to strengthen and guide young women. Exemplify and teach these standards in all aspects of the Young Women organization.
Sunday Gospel Instruction
Gather with the young women each Sunday in opening exercises and classes to increase understanding of gospel doctrines and principles, feel the Spirit, and strengthen and share testimonies.
Personal Progress
Personal Progress strengthens young women’s testimonies of Jesus Christ, prepares them for future roles, and helps them to make and keep sacred covenants. Help them work with parents and leaders to set and accomplish goals based on the eight Young Women values. (See Handbook 2, 10.7.)
Mutual and Other Activities
Gather the young women together in activities and give them opportunities to serve others, develop leadership skills, and develop spiritually, socially, physically, and intellectually. (See Handbook 2, 10.8.) Learn more about safety recommendations.
Young Women Camp
When possible, hold Young Women camp annually to give young women a unique experience in which they can strengthen testimonies, feel the Spirit, make friendships, serve, and develop leadership and other skills. (See Handbook 2, 10.8.6.)
Leadership Lessons for Young Women Class Presidencies
Focus on helping each young woman learn and practice leadership skills and qualities as she participates in the Young Women program. (See Handbook 2, 10.9.)
Young Women with Disabilities
Resources are available to assist leaders with helping young women with disabilities participate in the many aspects of the Young Women program.
