Has the Reading Chapel played a part in your life e.g. dances, baptisms, weddings, conferences, meetings etc?

If so, you are invited to a special double Anniversary – 50 years since the opening of the chapel in 1963 and 40 years since the formation of the Reading England Stake in 1973 (which included Slough, High Wycombe, Aldershot and Swindon units)

The chapel will be open from 4:30 to 9 pm on Sunday 28th April with displays and light refreshments.

The fireside will be from 6:30 – 8 pm and will commemorate the chapel and stake in words and music.

The music will be provided by a choir formed for the evening and under the direction of Rosalind Hall (professor of choral music at BYU and former music director of the Reading England stake and Reading Mormon choir).

For those who would like to sing in the choir, and as a reunion for former members of the Reading Mormon choir, on Saturday April 27th Professor Hall will be conducting a choral music workshop and rehearsals of the pieces to be performed at the fireside.  The day starts at 11am (lunch will be provided).

There will also be a dinner and reunion time for the Reading Mormon choir at 6-9 pm on the Saturday evening.

For those who plan to sing in the choir, and/or attend the Reading Mormon choir reunion dinner, please confirm this to the contact below.

If you have any pictures or memories of applicable events we would welcome including them in the displays (please send them even if you can’t attend in person).
