- 4 June - 30 August 2013
- Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
“We get a great turnout. The concerts we put on have always been popular.” –Marilyn Larensen, program manager for Temple Square performances.
The summertime Concerts in the Park series, held at Brigham Young Park (100 North State Street in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA), kicked off on June 4 and will continue on Tuesday and Friday evenings through August 30. The concert series began in 1996 and has been successful ever since.
“We get a great turnout. The concerts we put on have always been popular,” said Marilyn Larensen, program manager for Temple Square Performances.
On evenings when a concert is scheduled, 600 lawn chairs are placed in the park, but attendants are welcome to bring their own chairs or blankets. Sister Larensen said up to 3,200 people have attended a concert in the park.
“Concerts in the Park has lighter music,” she added. “We have folk singers and different cultural groups perform. There is a little bit of everything.”
