Orchestra at Temple Square to Perform in Spring Concert

The Orchestra at Temple Square will hold its spring concert in the Tabernacle on Temple Square on March 16 and 17, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. The event will last approximately 90 minutes, and Igor Gruppman will conduct.
Entitled “Romantic Variations: Music of Brahms and Rachmaninoff,” the concert will feature Symphony no. 4 in E Minor by Johannes Brahms and Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini by Sergei Rachmaninoff.
The orchestra will be joined by guest artist Josh Wright, who will perform a piano solo. Mr. Wright has won numerous domestic and international piano competitions, including the Gina Bachauer International Artists Competition. He has appeared with the Salt Lake Symphony and the Utah Symphony and is currently studying at the University of Utah.
The event requires tickets, which can be obtained free of charge starting Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at the Conference Center Ticket Office (door 4), at lds.org/events, or by calling 801-570-0080. Admission to this event is limited to those ages eight and older.
Sunday dress is encouraged. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. the evenings of the event, and patrons should be in their seats 15 minutes before the event begins. The standby line will form at the north gate of Temple Square.
