Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple Open House and Dedication

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced that the Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple will be dedicated on Sunday, September 1, 2019.
The free public open house for the Haiti Temple will begin Saturday, August 3, and go through Saturday, August 17, 2019, except for the Sundays of August 4 and August 11.
A youth devotional will be held Saturday, August 31, and broadcast to meetinghouses within the temple district. The temple will be dedicated the next day on Sunday, September 1, in three sessions: at 9:00 a.m., noon, and 3:00 p.m. Additional details about the dedication will be released later.
Thomas S. Monson, then President of the Church, announced construction of the temple at the Church’s April 2015 general conference. Ground was broken for the Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple on Saturday, October 28, 2017, directed by Elder Walter F. González of the Seventy and President of the Caribbean Area.
The temple district comprises more than 17,000 Latter-day Saints located in four Haiti stakes and three districts.
The temple will open for ordinances for all patrons on Tuesday, September 10.
