President Uchtdorf to Speak at Church History Symposium

Brigham Young University and the Church History Department are cosponsoring a Church History Symposium, “The Worldwide Church: The Global Reach of Mormonism.” It will be held Thursday, March 6, at Brigham Young University, and Friday, March 7, at the Conference Center Theater. President Dieter F. Uchtdorf will be a keynote speaker during the event.
Participants will explore the Church’s impact and presence on the global stage and how the Church is adjusting to meet the needs of an international membership. Admission is free and open to the public. No reservations are needed to attend the event.
The symposium will begin Thursday in the BYU Conference Center at 9:00 a.m. The keynote address at 7:00 p.m. will be given by Terryl L. Givens, professor of literature and religion at the University of Richmond, where he holds the James A. Bostwick Chair in English.
The symposium will continue Friday at the Conference Center Theater in Salt Lake City from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The keynote address at 9:00 a.m. will be given by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf.
The event is sponsored by the BYU Religious Studies Center, Continuing Education, the Department of Church History and Doctrine, the Church History Library, and the Church History Museum.
