The Poppy Appeal is the Royal British Legion's biggest fundraising campaign and runs year-round. Lapel poppies are available to buy in shops, supermarkets, stations and clubs from the last week of October until Remembrance Sunday, or 11 November, whichever is later in the calendar.
It takes 350,000 volunteers and staff to organise the Poppy Appeal each year. Money raised goes to support the welfare work for the Armed Forces community.
Members of the Church in the United Kingdom are invited to participate locally by joining with other members of their stake to help collect monies, organise venues, count funds.
A team of helpers from each ward or stake may be invited to participate, in co-ordination with the local Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal organisers. The event starts on the last Saturday of October, 26th, through to Armistice Day on November 11th.
