  • Orchestra at Temple Square Orchestra at Temple Square and Temple Square Chorale Present “A Spring Concert”

    Friday–Saturday, April 29–30

    The Orchestra at Temple Square and the Temple Square Chorale will present a joint concert in the Salt Lake Tabernacle. The first half of the concert will feature the orchestra performing an excerpt from the Suite from The Wise Virgins orchestrated by William Walton from music by J. S. Bach and From Death to Life by C. Hubert H. Parry. The concert’s second half will feature the Utah premiere of Mack Wilberg’s oratorio The Prodigal performed by the Temple Square Chorale accompanied by the Orchestra at Temple Square. 

  • Press Forward: A Book of Mormon Family Musical

    An original full-length musical that follows the life of the prophets Lehi and Nephi, from Nephi's early teens to his senior years.  The musical shows the prophetic calling of Lehi in Jerusalem, the eight-year wilderness journey of their family, Nephi's growth as a prophet in his own right, and the establishment of two unique civilizations in the New World.

    “The Prodigal Son” musical production is presented by the Pioneer, Rose Park, Rose Park North, and Cannon Stakes, with original lyrics and music by Andres Paredes from the Pioneer Stake. It follows the story of the departure and return of the wayward son, as he finally realizes that he was better off in his father’s house than in the house of strangers.
