2014 Temple Square Christmas Lights and Concert Series
- November 28–December 31, 2014
- Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
Christmas season on Temple Square officially opens each year when the millions of Christmas lights are turned on for the first time the day after Thanksgiving.
For 2014, the Christmas lights, displays, and musical performances will run from the day after Thanksgiving until New Year's Eve, November 28 to December 31, 2014. All Christmas on Temple Square and EVE events are free, and all ages are welcome.
The opening concert for Christmas on Temple Square is by We Also Sing! women’s choir and Because We Sing! men’s chorus, directed by Merrilee Webb.
Many additional choirs and other musical ensembles of all genres will continue to perform in various locations, including the Tabernacle, the Assembly Hall, the North Visitors’ Center, the Family History Library, the lobby of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, and the lobby of the Church Office Building through December 23. View or download a detailed schedule of these free performances, which do not require tickets.
Then be sure to return December 29 through 31 for EVE performances each evening, culminating in fireworks at midnight New Year’s Eve on West Temple by the Salt Palace. All EVE performances on Temple Square are free and open to all ages, and tickets or passes are not required. (Please note that other downtown EVE events require an entrance pass; visit eveslc.com for more information.) Plan to arrive early to allow for parking and traffic congestion.
