Elder Benjamin De Hoyos
Elder Benjamín De Hoyos was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 2, 2005. He was named a member of the Fourth Quorum of the Seventy on April 3, 1999 and served as an Area Seventy for the Mexico South Area. He has served as a member of the South America North Area Presidency and the Mexico Area Presidency and then as president of the Mexico Area. He is currently serving at Church headquarters as an assistant executive director in the Temple Department.
Elder De Hoyos received his Bachelor Degree credentials from the Normal Superior Benavente in Puebla Mexico in 1982. He earned a master of business administration from the University of Chapultepec in Mexico City in 1995. He was an employee for the Church Educational System in Mexico and worked as regional coordinator of Seminaries and Institutes, associate director of the Southeast Mexico Area, institute director, associate assistant director of the Mexico North Area, public affairs director of the Mexico Area, and Seminaries and Institutes Mexico South area director.
Elder De Hoyos has served in many Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Mexico Hermosillo Mission, counselor in a stake presidency, stake president, and president of the Mexico Tuxtla Gutierrez Mission (1996–1999).
Benjamín De Hoyos Estrada was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, on February 20, 1953. He married Evelia Genesta Mendivil in June 1975. They are the parents of six children.
