13 New Visitors' Center Directors to Begin Service January 2014
Thirteen new visitors’ center directors and their wives have been called. They will begin their service in January of 2014.
San Diego Mormon Battalion Historic Site
David Neilson Barnes, 76, and Cherie Lee White Barnes, eight children, Olympus 5th Ward, Salt Lake Olympus Stake. Brother Barnes serves as a high priests group instructor and is a former high councilor, bishop, high priests group leader, gospel doctrine teacher and missionary in the North British Mission. Retired manager of travel for the Church’s Travel Department. Born in Washington, D.C., to Maurice Runnels and Ellen Cornelia Barnes. Sister Barnes has served as a ward Relief Society president, ward Primary president, counselor in a ward Young Women presidency and gospel doctrine teacher. Born in Salt Lake City, to Arnold Dee and Erma White.
Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors’ Center
Scott Wallace Cameron, 67, and Christine Cannon Cameron, six children, Pleasant View 8th Ward, Provo Utah Sharon East Stake. Brother Cameron was recently released as a branch president at the Provo Missionary Training Center and is a former member of the Young Men general board, president of the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission, counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, counselor in a bishopric and missionary in the British South Mission. Associate dean of the Brigham Young University Law School. Born in Salt Lake City to Emmett Halliday and Rosetta Wallace Cameron. Sister Cameron served with her husband in the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission and is a former stake Relief Society President, stake Primary president, counselor in stake Young Women and Primary presidencies and ward Young Women president. Born in Salt Lake City to Quayle (Jr.) and Dorothy Fay Allred Cannon.
Hyde Park Visitors’ Center (London)
Duane Volker Cardall, 68, and Margaret Layton Cardall, eight children, Valley View 12th Ward, Salt Lake Valley View Stake. Brother Cardall was recently released as a missionary in the Washington DC North Mission and is a former high councilor, bishop, counselor in a stake mission presidency, counselor in a bishopric and missionary in the Netherlands Mission. Retired director of editorials for KSL Broadcasting. Born in Denver, Colo., to Duane Taylor and Joy Volker Cardall. Sister Cardall served with her husband in the Washington DC North Mission and is a former stake Relief Society president, counselor in stake Relief Society and Young Women presidencies, ward Young Women president and counselor in a ward Primary presidency. Idaho Falls Temple Visitors’ Center
Irving Bruce Crockett, 66, and Layne Erickson Crockett, five children, Shelley 4th Ward, Shelley Idaho Stake. Brother Crockett serves as a ward Primary teacher and recently served with his wife as a missionary and institute teacher in the Florida Tallahassee Mission. He is a former high councilor, bishop, gospel doctrine teacher and missionary in the Great Lakes Mission. Retired database manager for Idaho National Laboratory. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Lovene D and Margaret Clara Mae Heimberger Crockett. Sister Crockett served with her husband in the Florida Tallahassee Mission and is a former stake Relief Society adviser, counselor in stake Primary and Young Women presidencies, ward Relief Society president and counselor in a ward Primary presidency. Max Greg Gollaher, 63, and Jill Suzanne Long Gollaher, seven children, Eighteenth North Ward, Salt Lake Ensign Stake. Brother Gollaher served as president of the Brazil Recife Mission and is a former area executive secretary, stake president, bishop, counselor in the Laie Hawaii Temple presidency, temple ordinance worker and missionary in the South Africa Mission. Retired controller for North American Operations at Ford Motor Company and chief financial officer for the Polynesian Cultural Center. Born in Logan, Utah, to Max Gilbert and Fern Gollaher. Sister Gollaher served with her husband in the Brazil Recife Mission and is a former assistant to the matron in the Laie Hawaii Temple, temple ordinance worker, ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president, ward Primary president, and a teacher in ward Relief Society, Young Women and Primary organizations. Born in Salt Lake City to Darld James Jr. and Carol Elaine Long.

Ronald Kurt Hawkins, 66, and Anne Briscoe Johnston Hawkins, six children, Highland 3rd Ward, Highland Utah Stake. Brother Hawkins served as president of the Hawaii Honolulu Mission and is a former stake president, counselor in a stake presidency, bishop and missionary in the Scottish Mission. Accountant and partner at Hawkins, Cloward & Simister. Born in Provo, Utah, to Richard Elliott and Elizabeth Gordon Hawkins. Sister Hawkins served with her husband in the Hawaii Honolulu Mission and is a former member of the Primary general board, counselor in a stake Young Women presidency, ward Young Women president, ward Primary president, stake and ward choir director and Young Single Adult Relief Society adviser. Born at Hamilton Air Force Base, Calif., to James Ellsworth and Mary Briscoe Johnston.

Brother Hunter serves as a sealer in the Salt Lake Temple and is a former president of the New Zealand Auckland Mission, president of the Oakland California Temple, stake president, counselor in the California San Jose Mission presidency and missionary in the Southern Australia Mission. Retired self-employed attorney. Born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Howard William and Clara May Hunter. Sister Hunter served with her husband in the New Zealand Auckland Mission and is a former matron of the Oakland California Temple, ward Young Women president, ward Primary president, and counselor in ward Young Women and Relief Society presidencies. John Michael Pinegar, 65, and Rebecca McConkie Pinegar, eight children, Lakeridge 5th Ward, Orem Utah Lakeridge Stake. Lynn James Poulsen, 69, and Ardith Nielson Poulsen, seven children, Lundstrom Park 2nd Ward, Logan Utah East Stake. Brother Poulsen serves as a sealer in the Logan Utah Temple and is a former president of the Norway Oslo Mission, executive secretary for the Europe Central Area, counselor in a stake presidency, bishop and missionary in the Norwegian Mission. Associate vice president of Student Services for Utah State University. Born in Logan, Utah, to Rex E. and Frances Whinham Poulsen. Sister Poulsen serves as an ordinance worker in the Logan Utah Temple and as a Cub Scout leader. She previously served with her husband in the Norway Oslo mission and in the Europe Central Area and is a former ward Young Women adviser and counselor in ward Relief Society and Young Women presidencies. Brother Priday is a former president of the Canada Calgary Mission, stake president, counselor in a Provo Missionary Training Center district presidency, bishop, branch president, Scoutmaster and missionary in the Canada Toronto Mission. Retired university registrar for Brigham Young University. Born in American Fork, Utah, to Leland Forbes and Thelma Farnsworth Priday. Brother and Sister Stewart are serving on the public affairs council for the Salt Lake City Area. Brother Stewart is a former president of the Canada Vancouver Mission, counselor in a stake presidency, high councilor, bishop, mission preparation teacher and missionary in the Central Atlantic States Mission. Vice president and general counsel for Huish Outdoors. Born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Harold LaVon Stewart and Bette Gene Stewart. Sister Stewart served with her husband in the Canada Vancouver Mission and is a former counselor in a stake Relief Society presidency, ward missionary, mission preparation teacher and young adult Sunday School teacher. *The brethren will preside over full-time missionaries and, with their wives, will direct the work of a visitors’ center. They are called as mission president and wife.
