Actors Invited to Audition for Nauvoo, British Pageants Core Cast

The Church is seeking professional-quality actors to audition for 20 core cast roles in the Nauvoo and British pageants, which will be performed on alternating nights in Nauvoo during the summer of 2015.
Auditions begin January 20, 2015. The core cast—which represent historical figures such as Parley P. Pratt and Joseph and Emma Smith—will perform both shows. There are roles for men and women age 20 through 70, as well as one teenage boy.
Please come prepared with 16 bars of a song of your choice. We will also do readings from the pageant scripts. Groups of 10-12 will audition each hour, so please anticipate scheduling a time at the top of each hour. (Most pageant roles do not require singing; however, core cast members with musical talent may be featured in community appearances and civic functions.)

The rigorous nature of these outdoor summer pageants requires that core cast members be experienced, faithful, LDS performers demonstrating a high degree of maturity, flexibility, and willingness to work long hours. Good health is essential. Once cast, candidates must also receive their bishop’s recommendation.
Rehearsals for core cast members will take place in Salt Lake City in June and will then move to Nauvoo. The performances will open July 7 and close on August 1. For core cast members, the pageant will cover transportation to and from Nauvoo and provide housing and meals while in Nauvoo. Due to the length of the pageant run, core cast members will also receive a modest honorarium appropriate to their role.
