  • Young Single Adults Gather to Socialise and Give Community Service

    Four Hundred and twenty young adults gathered in Adelaide over the New Year period for a ‘Young Single Adult’ (Y.S.A.) Convention. The convention — which was based at Saint Mark’s student accommodation facility in North Adelaide, on the banks of the River Torrens — was held from 27 December 2012 to 1 January 2013. Annual Y.S.A. conventions are held at various major cities across Australia and are designed to boost faith and fellowship for 18-30 year-old single adults, with service projects always included in the programme of events.  Full Story

  • Solomon Island Saints Make Good Things Happen

    Latter-day Saints in Honiara, Solomon Islands, celebrated the organization of the nation's first District (equivalent to a small diocese) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this month.   • Church Donates Equipment for Humanitarian Open Heart Surgeries

    "Operation Open Heart" officials were presented two external pacemakers by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 13 December. The Hon Paul Fletcher MP spoke at the ceremony held at Sydney Adventist Hospital, home base for the volunteer surgical teams that provide life-transforming cardiac surgeries in disadvantaged countries.  Full Story

  • “Operation Christmas Child” Driven by 80-year Old in Tasmania

    "North Vietnam, where our little boxes are going, has been struck by a horrendous typhoon. These people had precious little before the disaster, and now what they had is washed away in floods." So says Jo Hunter, a resident of Glanara Lakes retirement facility in Launceston, Tasmania. The eighty-year old, motivated by compassion, and determined not to rest when there are good works to be done, spearheaded a Christmas project for the children in the stricken area.  Full Story
