“Break time” are two words that won’t be found in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s and Orchestra at Temple Square’s vast repertoire.
Just a couple weeks after wrapping up theiralong the Pacific Coast, they are back for two more evening concerts.
The choir and orchestra will celebrate the Pioneer Day holiday with “Music for a Summer Evening”—a Broadway-themed program to be held on Friday, July 20, and Saturday, July 21, at 8 p.m. in the Conference Center on Temple Square.
The choir and orchestra will welcome three guests for the two Pioneer Day concerts: Broadway and television star Matthew Morrison; Broadway and London stage star Laura Michelle Kelly; and Oscar “Andy” Hammerstein III, grandson of beloved lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II.
At press time, there were no tickets available. But there are several other ways to view the concert, both live and via replay.
On July 21, the concert will be streamed live on mormontabernaclechoir.org, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir YouTube page, LDS.org, mormonchannel.org, and BYUtv in English. It will also be streamed live on the Mormon Channel’s YouTube language channels in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German.
The concert will be archived for on-demand viewing in English immediately following the live-stream concert. On-demand videos in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German will be available by July 30 on motab.org/pioneerday.
The concert will also be broadcast over the Church satellite system in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German. Multiple satellite air times will be available to accommodate local needs. Closed captioning will be available in English only.
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square perform at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City on Friday, July 14, 2017.
