The First Presidency of the Church invites members as well as the general public to tour the San Salvador El Salvador Temple during its open house from Friday, July 1, 2011, through Saturday, July 23, 2011, except for Sundays.

A cultural celebration of music and dance will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011, followed by the dedication of the temple on Sunday, August 21, 2011.

Both the cultural celebration and the dedication, of which there will be a 9:00 a.m., noon, and 3:00 p.m. session, will be broadcast to all of the units in the temple district.

Local priesthood leaders will distribute tickets and instructions for attending the dedication.

The San Salvador El Salvador Temple will open for ordinance work on Tuesday, August 23, 2011, nearly four years after it was first announced in November 2007.

The temple will be the Church’s 135th operating temple in the world. It is the first temple to be built in El Salvador and the fourth to be built in Central America.

Church membership in El Salvador during 2010 was 105,500 out of a total population of more than 7 million people.
