Opening day of the 2015 Utah Legislature on Monday, January 26, commenced with prayers from two prominent Church members.

Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles offered the opening prayer in the Senate, and H. David Burton, former Presiding Bishop of the Church and current chairman of the board of the Utah Transit Authority, offered the prayer in the House.

Issues facing the Utah Legislature during the upcoming session include proposals for improving Utah’s poor air quality, protecting religious freedom, breaking the intergenerational poverty cycle, and raising the gas tax.
