LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA

Over 4,500 members of the Church and their friends gathered in Los Angeles, California, Friday evening, June 27, for the annual Mormon Night at Dodger Stadium.

Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles threw out the ceremonial first pitch. Joining him on the field was his wife, Sister Susan Bednar.

Elder Jerry Garns, an Area Seventy, caught the ceremonial first pitch.

Kirby Heyborne, popular LDS actor, musician, and comedian, and Erik Christensen, Emmy Award–winning television and film editor, sang the national anthem.

In pre-game events, Primary children were invited to “take the field” with the Dodgers players as they took their positions at the beginning of the game. Each child was then given a baseball, which the player had signed for him or her.

Mormon Night at Dodger Stadium is the longest-running community event held by the Dodger organization and has gone for over 30 years. It is also the largest special event held by them. The Dodgers have frequently expressed their appreciation for the long-standing relationship.

The St. Louis Cardinals won the game, 3 to 1.
