“No matter what you face, you can find peace. ... You can feel the quiet assurance that things will work out.” —Young Men and Young Women General Presidencies
Resources for teaching the 2018 Mutual theme for the youth of the Church—which focuses on finding peace in Christ—are now live on LDS.org.
2018 Mutual theme
Throughout 2018, youth will have the opportunity to memorize and apply the teachings found in Doctrine and Covenants 19:23: “Learn of me, and listen to my words; walk in the meekness of my Spirit, and you shall have peace in me” (emphasis added).
“We testify that is true,” the General Presidencies of the Young Women and the Young Men said in a joint statement. “We have seen it in our own lives, and if you follow this pattern, God will fulfill His promise of peace in your life as well.
“No matter what you face, you can find peace. That doesn’t mean all those questions or concerns will immediately vanish, but you can feel the quiet assurance that things will work out.”
Youth and youth leaders can visit youth.lds.org now to download the following 2018 Mutual theme resources:

The 2018 Mutual theme video—produced and filmed in Brazil—features people playing a white grand piano set in a stunning ocean of white sand dunes and blue sky. Peace in Christ, symbolized by a yellow umbrella, is shown throughout the brief video providing protection against symbolic storms. The video, shown at the top of this article, may be downloaded here or on youth.lds.org.
The English 2018 Mutual theme album has 12 songs written and performed by LDS youth. Download individual songs or the entire album from the resources page as well as an Mp3 file, instrumental version, and sheet music for each song. You can also stream the album on Youth.lds.org, the LDS Music app, Spotify, and YouTube (in English, Spanish, and Portuguese).
The full Mutual Theme album is recorded in Spanish and Portuguese, with the sheet music for the theme song, “Peace in Christ,” available in the January edition of the Liahona magazine in 27 languages.
How to use the theme
The mutual theme will be used in For the Strength of Youth (FSY) conferences around the world and can also be used in camps, youth activities, firesides, Sunday lessons, and Mutual opening exercises.
