Five LDS Homes Destroyed in Carlton Fire in Washington

  • 11 August 2014

Five homes of Latter-day Saints were destroyed by the Carlton Fire in central Washington, which burned 243,000 acres primarily within the boundaries of the Wenatchee Washington Stake this July.

No meetinghouses were impacted by the fire, according to a Church welfare report.

In response to the disaster the Church sent two truckloads of food and emergency supplies from the Bishops’ Central Storehouse.

Youth assembled and delivered nonperishable food kits to families in need. In addition, 1,150 volunteers from the Wenatchee Washington Stake provided community cleanup support.
