“Few have captured the spirit of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the restoration of it in music, in art, in literature. They have not, therefore, even though they were gifted, made a lasting contribution to the onrolling of the Church and kingdom of God.” —President Boyd K. Packer

Make a “lasting contribution” on create.lds.org
President Boyd K. Packer (1924–2015), who was President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and also an acclaimed artist, stated that some artists have achieved greatness but have missed what they might have become if they had contributed to the kingdom of God. “Few have captured the spirit of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the restoration of it in music, in art, in literature,” he said. “They have not, therefore, even though they were gifted, made a lasting contribution to the onrolling of the Church and kingdom of God in the dispensation of the fulness of times” (“The Arts and the Spirit of the Lord,” Ensign, Aug. 1976, 61).
Create.lds.org has many categories for professional or highly skilled members to submit original photos, videos, music, design, and writing. For actors or models, there is also a casting section where casting needs are listed for current Church projects.
Certain standards apply to each category, and not every submission will be accepted.
