Kyiv Ukraine Temple Open House
An open house will be held for the Kyiv Ukraine Temple August 7–12.
The Kyik Ukraine Temple is the eleventh on the European continent and the first in Ukraine, a country that’s home to 10,722 Church members. The first LDS congregation in Ukraine was established in 1991; the first Ukrainian meetinghouses built by the Church were dedicated in 2001.
The temple was announced on July 20, 1998. Construction began on June 23, 2007. As the only temple in Eastern Europe, the Kyiv Temple will serve members in 13 countries.
The temple dedication will be held on August 29, 2010 and will be preceded by a cultural celebration held on August 28.
