Something remarkable happens when the Latter-day Saint women gather, said Sister Linda K. Burton , general president of the Relief Society. “Women love to get together,” she said. “There is a lot of power when women get together.” Burton sister; Sister Bonnie L. Oscarson , Young Women general president; and Sister Rosemary M. Wixom , Primary general president, said they hope that women around the world feel that energy to meet for the general meeting of the women of the church on September 27.
The live broadcast directly from the Conference Center and with the participation of speakers from the First Presidency and the general presidency of the Relief Society, Young Women and Primary, will be translated into 55 languages - reaching millions of people around the world in the chapels, the television, radio and the Internet.
Sister Oscarson said that when women get together, see how closely they match. “They strengthen each other,” she said.
The First Presidency announced last November that the general biannual meeting women replace the general meetings of Relief Society and Young Women. All women, boys and girls 8 years of age or older were invited to participate in the joint meeting. A first meeting was held in March. Now, as the Church approaches the second general meeting of women, church members will see a change in the meeting, from a novelty to a tradition, said Sister Wixom. “The tradition and will continue to be very strong,” she said.
Sister Oscarson said an interesting thing about the meeting is that all the sisters of the General Board of the Young Women - many of whom live and serve out of Utah - will be in the Conference Center for the meeting. “We're excited about it,” she said, noting that he has communicated with these board members through technology, but never met some of them personally.

Sister Wixom said he expects the Latter-day Saint women will understand the blessings of being a daughter of God and talk about this with your loved ones to. “Part of that true strength comes from the meeting is not just what is said in the meeting, but what is said in the car on the way home.” Women said that last year many have questioned why, besides Society sisters Relief and girls, girls in Primary with eight or more years, were invited to attend the meeting. “We saw this as a great opportunity to strengthen girls 8-11 years of age who are being affected by things that they had never been at that age, ”said Sister Burton. Oscarson said Sister Primary children see themselves as part of the group of women saints of the last days worldwide. During the meeting, the leaders knew why they felt inspired to include girls age Primary, Sister Wixom said. “We need them. Earlier we allow them to participate, but we needed them. ” Sister Wixom said, as they sit in the Conference Center, they see mothers, and young children together. Also visualize what is attend the meeting “in the wards and branches throughout the world.” She expects all participants - no matter their age or location - “to feel a part of this great worldwide sisterhood. Even if we are a world away, it is as if we were side by side. ” Sister Oscarson said, as the women participate in a meeting around the world with people who share your beliefs, “they know not are alone. They know they do not have to defend their own beliefs. ” Leaders said they received touching stories of women, girls and girls after the general meeting of women in the past semester. For example, three girls from West Jordan Utah East Stake were invited to a prom high school the night of the meeting. They used their modest prom dresses in transmission and peers caught in the chapel of the end. A woman from the Philippines attended the meeting with his daughter in their home on the Internet. “We woke up early and use our best clothes,” the woman wrote in a letter to Church headquarters. “We especially like the Spirit we feel when all the children were invited to remain standing and sing. Oscarson's sister said he hoped to receive similar reports after this conference. She hopes that women and young women and girls around the world listen to the meeting, and strengthen their commitment “to keep the covenants and stay on the path of the covenant.”
