The Leribe Branch was created on Sunday, April 14, 2013, in the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho, under the direction of South Africa Durban Mission President James C. Von Stetten.

The Leribe Group was created in 2010. For three years senior couples and young missionaries have nurtured and prayed fervently for this area.

The members in Leribe Group, who met each week in a small rented business office, were all smiles as their group achieved branch status that Sunday.

Thatho Michael Thatho, branch president, worked diligently to keep programs going that would continue to enhance members' lives, such as Seminary and Institute, and group family home evenings once or sometimes twice a week.

The Relief Society president, Ellen Cadribo, often traveled to Leribe from Lady Branch to help support the women of the group. Missionaries also worked valiantly with members to strengthen them. The result was evident in their happy faces and righteous desires as they were made a branch.

Approximately 70 people were in attendance, as a host of leaders came to Leribe to celebrate the official announcement of the new Leribe Branch.  President James C. Von Stetten, joined by his wife, presided over the event.
