Local Activities Planned to Coincide with January 2018 Worldwide Devotional for Young Adults

Young adults are encouraged to participate in activities and social media sharing before and after the worldwide devotional on Sunday, January 14, 2018, with Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Sister Harriet Uchtdorf.

Young adults around the world are encouraged to participate in activities and social media sharing before and after the upcoming worldwide devotional on Sunday, January 14, 2018, with Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and his wife, Sister Harriet Uchtdorf.

Elder and Sister Uchtdorf will speak on the adventure of mortality from the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the broadcast will be transmitted live on the Church satellite system, ChurchofJesusChrist.org, and other media.

Coinciding with that January 14 broadcast, the Church encourages members and friends ages 18 to 30 to “unite globally in sharing goodness by engaging in activities and then posting their experiences on social media.”

Members and friends who live in Utah between Logan and Payson are encouraged to attend the worldwide devotional in the Conference Center, which holds more than 20,000 people, and also participate in pre- and post-event activities. Tickets to attend the live event or the activities are not required.

Before and after the 6:00 p.m. broadcast, activities on Temple Square including the Temple Square lights being turned back on (from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.), videos, tours, discussion tables, service opportunities, family history activities, and refreshments. (See related article.)

For other areas of the world, Local leaders are encouraged to determine a viewing date and time and other activities that best serve the young adults in their area.
