Easter Pageant Celebrates the Savior’s Resurrection

  • April 13–23, 2011

The Mesa Arizona Easter Pageant, Jesus the Christ, known for being one of the largest annual outdoor Easter pageants in the world, will be presented from April 13 to 23 (except Sunday and Monday) near the Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors’ Center in Mesa, Arizona, USA.

The pageant, sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is taken from the King James Version of the Bible and is written and presented for all faiths, cultures, and ages.

The one-hour pageant reenacts the life, mission, and ministry of Jesus Christ through drama, dance, and music in a professional, full-scale theater production. The production celebrates the Resurrection of the Savior rather than focusing heavily on the Crucifixion.

The 9,600-square-foot (892 square meter) stage, constructed for the pageant, stands four stories high. The 450 volunteer cast members prepare for nine formal performances, which 4,000 to 12,000 visitors attend each night.

Performances begin at 8:00 p.m. and are available in English, Spanish and ASL. Admission is free and no tickets are required. For more information, please visit easterpageant.org
