Mission Presidents and Wives Called to Serve

Twelve new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. With the exception of Elder and Sister Zwick, who will begin their service immediately, these couples will begin serving in July.

Australia Sydney South Mission

Darrell K. and Mary B. Back

Darrell Kenneth Back, 60, and Mary Ann Babbel Back, seven children, Crescent 18th Ward, Sandy Utah Crescent Stake: Australia Sydney South Mission, succeeding President Larry J. Lew and Sister Susanna Lew. Brother Back is a former counselor in a stake presidency, bishop, high councilor, ward Young Men president, Scoutmaster and missionary in the Australia Melbourne Mission. Sister Back is a former counselor in ward Relief Society and Young Women presidencies, ward Young Women adviser, ward Primary teacher and Cub Scout leader. Born in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Roy Erwin Babbel and Rhoda Mae Welker Babbel.

Puerto Rico San Juan Mission

Kendle and Robin L. Bowler

Kendle Bowler, 58, and Robin Lynn Howell Bowler, four children, Meadow Valley Ward, Elko Nevada East Stake: Honduras Tegucigalpa Mission, succeeding President Carlos A. Hernández and Sister Ana Rivas de Hernández. Brother Bowler is a former stake president, bishop, stake Young Men president, elders quorum president and missionary in the Argentina Buenos Aires South Mission. Ranch owner.
