Flooding in Fiji

SUVA, Fiji - Flooding in Fiji is worse than that which the country experienced in January this year according to Pacific Area Welfare Manager for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Steve Stebbings.

Lautoka Church leader President Maiwiriwiri reports that one chapel, which escaped major damage last time, is flooded to window height.

Church members have been advised to stay home or to move to the Nadi Chapel if need be.

Elder Terry, a missionary living in Ba, reported that the water level is ten feet higher than the January flood.

There are power outages in some towns.
